prompt collection 2014

Here's a quick compilation of all the SingPoWriMo 2014 prompts thus far.

Write a poem about a beginning. It could be about any kind of start, the beginning of the day, the beginning of a new relationship, the beginning of grief, the beginning of a commute or journey, etc.

Bonus 1: The first line of your poem should be the last line of a poem you've written in the last 7 days. 
Bonus 2: Your poem should start and end with the same line

The poetry form, Etheree, consists of 10 lines of increasing syllable length from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 to 10 syllables. 
Here are other variations of the form: 
Reversed Etheree: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Double Etheree: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10, 9, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Double Revered Etheree: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
Today's challenge involves writing an Etheree.

If you don't have a favourite poem, then use any article from the newspaper/a passage from a book/ any text at all.

Today's challenge is to write a liwuli, an ancient and esoteric poetic form originating in south-east asia. However, when properly executed, it is one of the most beautiful of forms. Extremely rare and nearly impossible to find on the internet, the liwuli is a nearly-lost form that we are going to try to resurrect for today's exercise.
A liwuli consists of 3 stanzas: (1) the first stanza contains exactly 31 syllables in the form of a prose poem, and should be phrased entirely in terms of instructions. (2) the second stanza consists of 14 syllables, and is broken into 3 lines (the length of each line is up to the writer as long as its 14 syllables). (3) the third stanza consists of 10 syllables, and is broken into 2 lines. the third stanza should be phrased entirely in terms of questions.
